Bad Boy - Cat

Here's the tom cat ("Tom" -I didn't say I was original when it came to making up names). I still can't tell if he belongs to someone or not. He's become very bold around my cats. The kitten seems to be a little traumatized by him but my big boy, Sam, just keeps a wary eye on him. They were all in the backyard today. Tim on the fence, and Sam and Tom lying a few feet from each other. We'll see what happens. I hope he's not beating up on the baby. Tim had a really fine scratch down the side of his nose. I guess I'm just a bad mother for letting them outside, but they love being outdoors.

So glad the holidays are almost over. I'm ready for the new year. Ready to make some money! Ready to finally realize my potential. I saw Dreamgirls last night and started thinking about writing screenplays again. I'm going to have to make some time to do some serious writing! I'm also going to revive The MECK, which was a regional Charlotte, NC magazine, and I’ll make it into an electronic mag. My friend Ora sent me some poetry and I asked another friend to write a piece. I'm very excited about all that! Emily, get out your pens. Please finally put some of your rapier wit down on paper!!!!

If I could love all the hurt out of the world, I would gladly give up everything I have. Since that is impossible, I will make strides every day in my conduct, and my choices, to make my world a better place. Never give up hope.

An ID Theft Banner Ad

My goodness. I was able to put up this banner. Sorry to be experimenting with my blog, but this is kind of cool. Nothing to report in Charlotte, North Carolina. The sun seems to be trying to come out and I'm off for a Starbucks with my friend Terry. I might venture to go hear some music tonight if the weather continues to be good. I hate driving late at night in bad weather. Especially out here where it gets so dark.

Dog people, you can tune out now. I'm about to tell a cat story. There's a big old tom cat that's been coming around to my backyard and trying to terrorize my little guys. I don't think he belongs to anyone because I see him coming in and out of everyone's yards, he's not friendly, and he's definitely not neutered, if you know what I mean. So, my new challenge is to figure out how to get him to vet to get him snipped. I put some food out for him and he wouldn't touch it until I moved away but I was able to spy on him as he ate it. He didn't devour it, so I don't think he's starving, but he did the most interesting thing. I had to go inside for a bit and then I remembered that the food was outside and I didn't want to attract raccoons. I went out to get it and he had burrowed the dish deep into a little alcove of pine needles and then spread some leaves and pine needles over the top to hide it. I wish I had taken a photo but I don't think it would have come out. And then yesterday it rained heavily all day and he never came back and it's now mid-morning and I still haven't seen him. To be continued....

If I could love all the hurt out of the world, I would gladly give up everything I have. Since that is impossible, I will make strides every day in my conduct, and my choices, to make my world a better place. Never give up hope.

2 Photos, Not 3...

Okay, I think I figured it out. One of the photos from the last blog must be corrupted. I was able to upload two of them. So, unfortunately, you'll be missing out on the Santa yard. Whew. At least I could bring you this!

So, you know how I've been complaining about how hard it's been to sell Pre-Paid? Finally made a nice sale today, so I'm re-invigorated and ready for 2007! Hope you are too. You know that "never give up speech". Now it's your turn to make your life fabulous.

Let's change my signature for 2007...see below:

Brrrr!

Okay guys - I had 3, count them, 3 great photos and the blogger must be on the fritz. It won't upload them. So, let me describe them. First off, Little Timmy (my almost not kitten any more) stepping outside while meowing (I mean you can just hear him, it's so obvious he's talking), #2 - strangers walking down Tryon in Uptown in overcoats (hence the "Brrrr" in the title), and finally a neigbor's yard so overly decorated in inflatable Santas, reindeer and a snow cone, and on and on, that I had to bring it to you, all two readers of mine (Mom & Emily).

(By the way Emily, I have a rosary that I brought you from Jerusalem. I think it's about time we met. Maybe after the holidays.)

So, it's a big loss. I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe the Christmas rush to post blogs about surly store clerks and over priced lattes bombed Blogger's server. And I know everyone's blogging about sex, but I can't go there, because as stated above, my mother reads this blog, and also because I'm not getting any! So, Merry Christmas to lonely old me.

Tomorrow's a new day. Tomorrow will bring new adventures to share with you. Everyday is a blessing, everyday I will try to visualize peace, not only for myself but for everyone I love, and those living in turmoil.

Cold Calling at its Worst

Not to bore anyone out there, but I worked my tuchess off all week cold calling, warm calling, whatever, for Identity Theft Protection and thought I had a big meeting set up, only to finally check Pre-Paid's Do Not Call List and find out that the corporation that owns the hotel is on it!!! So, probably was spinning my wheels for nothing. Although it was good to get my chutzpah up with cold calls.

For all you non-Jews, that's two instances of using Yiddish in this blog. I feel like I'm slowly becoming my grandmother, white hair and all. Now if I could only make fluffy kneidels, my life would be complete. But alas, the secret to fluffy kneidels is in using schmaltz, and I'm a vegetarian, so that's not going to happen.

Here's a photo of little Timmy do kitty yoga. Why do cats always want to be where you are? I find it endearing, (I'm sure my dog friends hate it), but why do they do it? I'm really loving that kitten. He's growing so fast but he's still the crazy kitty. For example, right now he's biting the edge of the Apple computer screen. Why? That couldn't taste too good.

I'm also attaching a photo of California from my last trip. When I saw the Highway 101 sign it really did a number on me. I finally missed old Calie. I know I had to leave to save my sanity but I'm dying to go back. I'll find a work reason to go back out there.

At least it's another sunny and crisp day in North Carolina. What a beauty.

Tomorrow's a new day. Tomorrow will bring new adventures to share with you. Everyday is a blessing, everyday I will try to visualize peace, not only for myself but for everyone I love, and those living in turmoil.

Happy Holidays!

Don't have much to say. I'm a little nervous because I haven't sold any ID Theft packages, but it's coming. I just have to keep at it. I meet so many people every week. I just need to work the phones and meet with them and get them to sign up. I'm just about coffee'd out from meeting people. I might have to start drinking the heavy stuff. There's only so many lates you can down in a day.

I'm very excited about the new direction of Cats & Dogs online stuff. Also had a meeting with a Time Warner rep to find out about prices of air time for C&D shows and commercials. I'm going to begin to offer tv commercial productions to my advertisers on Cats & Dogs. I'm very excited. I think I need a partner, if anyone's reading this....

Happy holidays. I know it's early but I wanted to see if my holiday card would post on the blog.

Tomorrow's a new day. Tomorrow will bring new adventures to share with you. Everyday is a blessing, everyday I will try to visualize peace, not only for myself but for everyone I love, and those living in turmoil.

Vegas!

Wild times, my friends, wild times. Not really, but it felt good pretending I actually did something crazy. So, I had to be in San Francisco for some Identity Theft Training and decided to get there via Las Vegas. And, as usual, I got there when the rodeo was in town. Even though I'm now living in the South, it's very rare to see cowboy hats in Charlotte. I saw more in Los Angeles worn by the Mexican cowboys. And I've never been to Montana, or anywhere in the south where they dress like cowboys so it's always fun to see the men and women who come in for rodeo.

I usually stay at the Gold Coast Casino rather than paying crazy prices to stay on the strip. The roulette is affordable and now they have penny slot machines. (Boy I miss the coin slot machines, I hate these new age virtual things. I loved the sound of coins dropping into the tray.) And of course, the cowboys stay there.

Photos above are of some of the people visiting for rodeo. The guy standing by himself was pointed out to me as a rodeo celebrity by the three gentlemen standing in line for the dining room. We chatted and I found out that his name is Bob Griswold and he's a champion saddle bronc rider. Very nice guy.

I wish I had taken some photos of the gals in their cowgirl regalia, but sometimes it's not appropriate to approach people and besides, I was busy losing money at the penny slot machines.

The best thing about Vegas was that it got my entrepreneurial juices flowing. There's so much money in that city that I know I'm going to be going back to do business. Even if it's only Cats & Dogs of The Bellagio Hotel. I will be back!

While I was in San Francisco I managed to find one of my youngest readers, Kai, son of Twito and Jeremy. He decided to pass the time on BART by reading Cats & Dogs of Charlotte. He's about 4 months old. I'm now in San Francisco finishing up the training and I'll go back to Charlotte via Vegas again. I love hitting Vegas and getting that sudden surge of energy, no matter how late it is, and just wandering around all night and people watching. It's really a fun city if you don't lose too much money.

One last thing, I met an amazing woman here in San Fran. I showed her the Cats & Dogs of Charlotte magazine and she gave me a few fabulous ideas to maintain it and make some money from it. I was so inspired that I reserved the following domain names: CatsAndDogsofNorthAmerica, CatsAndDogsofTheHolyLand, CatsAndDogsofTheWorld and CatsAndDogsofCelebs. Keep posted for news as these websites become realities!

Tomorrow's a new day. Tomorrow will bring new adventures to share with you. Everyday is a blessing, everyday I will try to visualize peace, not only for myself but for everyone I love, and those living in turmoil.
