Wedding, Sun, Sea, Marshes

I'm just back from Charleston, SC from Kelly & Paul's wedding. Charleston is only about 3 hours east of Charlotte. It is a very historic port city and has been beautifully preserved. It's one of those cities where you do a lot of walking, one of the reasons being that there isn't much parking. When I arrived Friday morning it was raining like mad. I was totally unprepared for cool weather. I figured it would be hot and humid, but it turned out to be around 75 degrees. I had arranged a meeting with a land design company that morning, since I figured whenever I travel, I should try and do some business also. It turned out to be a great meeting so it was a good start to a beautiful 24 hours. I hung out with the girls' wedding party as they prepared for the ceremony. I was so honored to have been included in this beautiful wedding.
The ceremony was held at an old church and then the reception was back at the hotel where a lot of us were staying. I took a little break from the revelry at one point in the evening and strolled around the block, just to take in the scenery and do some people watching. It felt so good to be out of Charlotte and my normal surroundings. It was nice to have a break.
The next day I met a woman from Pre-Paid who I know from telephone conference calls. She lives in Charleston, and I thought it would be nice to meet face to face and do some brainstorming. We went to a restaurant on Isle of Palms so that I could see a different part of Charleston. We were on the marsh area overlooking waterways, that I assume lead to the ocean. I suddenly looked up and saw a boat sailing down the waterway with a dog standing on the front of the boat, pointing the way.
All in all, a nice start to the weekend.
To all my readers (Mom and Emily), please spread the message of love and peace in your every day conduct. I will try and do the same.
