He May Be Scraggly, But He Sure Outsmarted Me

The drama! The suspense! I tried and tired to get Tom in the cage on Wednesday night, Thursday morning, and Thursday afternoon, and he finally broke me. I just gave him his tuna and walked away defeated and with a broken spirit. The vet clinic, Monroe Animal Hospital, said to try again Sunday night. Well, it's now Sunday and he's just taunting me! He's very hungry but he won't get in the cage. I did have him for a split second Wednesday night but he wouldn't step on the lever that spring the trap door closed. When I came behind him to shut the door, he fled. And then the taunting began...

He comes close to me but I'm scared to touch him. He slashed me this morning just out of orneriness. What an ordeal this is turning out to be! I rigged a string to the lever that pulls the door down so if I can get him in the trap again, I can seal him in. He did go back inside again today but he wasn't in deep enough and I didn't want the trap door to hurt him or catch his tail.

I'm getting tired of this! My respect goes out to everyone in animal control that has to put up with this animal insolence and all the animal rescue people that go through this every day. I’m just tuckered out.

Well, to lighten the mood, I added a photo of Kelley, of Kelley Berries. We ran into each other at Sam's Club and I made her pose in front of her cute little VW Beetle. If anyone needs chocolate covered strawberries, she's the one to call! www.kelleysberries.com

Girls Night Out on Thursday was kind of a bust. I had tons of RSVP's and only six of us were there. It was still fun but I was a little let down that others didn't show up or cancel. Their loss, right?

Big news, Trader Joes is open in Charlotte! My roommate and my friend Terry went down today to check it out and it was so jam packed that we pretty much just turned around and came home. It is an awesome store, and there would be no reason for me to ever leave Charlotte now.

Also, the weather has been dreadful. We haven't had rain in a long time and the creeks are very low, and the lawns are all dried up. It's been hot but it hasn't been too humid. The mosquitoes have not been a problem at all this year, but it's weird. It leaves you kind of nervous because something's not right with the universe.

To all my readers (Mom, Emily and Donald), please spread the message of love and peace in your every day conduct. I will try and do the same.
