I made it through yet another birthday
This is an email that went to my friends from Girls Night Out. I thought I'd just put it verbatim on my blog:
To my lady friends,
I had probably the best birthday ever last night (excluding last years, thanks to Terry & Nina) and I wanted to thank everyone who joined us at Phil & Tony's.
To those of you who couldn't make it, the surprise was two-fold. Yes, it was my birthday, but I didn't tell too many people because I'd rather have the focus on my friends and not on me, and the second surprise was that we had the world famous magician, Hannibal, perform his feats of magic for us. He was a blast! He was funny, adorable and performed unbelievable magic. Everyone was blown away.
The evening started out with Terry Sullivan herding some geese across the street. One of them was not happy with her help and hissed fiendishly at her. After a quick jaunt across the busy intersection, they turned around and headed right back to the lake.
Then our friends started to show up at the restaurant. Some of the women knew each other from last time, some made new friendships. As Michelle said, it was an eclectic mix of women. Drinks and food were ordered and our waitress, who was also called Sarah, managed to keep a cool head and take care of everyone. Hannibal showed up at 8:00 and the real fun began. Make sure you take a look at the photos of Michelle earnestly going through a deck of cards, looking for a
specific card, only to finally look up and see it on Hannibal's glasses. The look on her face was priceless.
Well, the evening would not be complete without a birthday cake, and Nancy Tarbis surprised me, the birthday gal, with a beautiful, yummy ice cream cake from Ben & Jerry's.
The next Girls Night Out will be in August and I hope to see you all there! I'll let you know soon what the date is so you can plan in advance! Becky T. - you'd better be there next time! I missed you.
(P.S. - if anyone wants an awesome magician, go to Hannibal's website: www.GoMagicBoy.com)
To all my readers (Mom and Emily), please spread the message of love and peace in your every day conduct. I will try and do the same.
