Bark in the Park! (Part 1)
Well, it's that time of the year again - Bark in the Park! I went to my second Bark in the Park and I guess the planets aligned this year. The turn out was tremendous, the weather was PERFECT and it was just a fun, wonderful event. Last year they had terrible thunderstorms and almost shut it down, but this year it was warm and sunny and the dogs seemed to be in heaven. I guess being a cat person, I never thought about how social dogs are.
I was supposed to be a contest judge but there were plenty of people on stage lots more excited than me about doing it, so I was happy to relinquish that duty.
It was kind of bitter sweet to see all the vendors, many of whom had been my advertisers, and to know that without the magazine I wasn't a part of that pet world any more. On the other hand it just inspired me to get back into it once I establish my finances.
We had two weeks of school enrollments for the identity theft product but the turn out wasn't what we expected. The best part about it was that we learned so much and it helped us refine our presentation and showed us what to do and not do. We also had a good meeting with one of the sports franchises in town and have about three more major meetings set up in the next week and a half, so I know I’m making in-roads.
Now for the dating scene, AHHHHHHH! I am done, I am done, I am done. I had a profile up on Yahoo Personals and barely got any notice and then I had to par that down to anyone that would interest me. It's just sad. I think my new take is to just love my life, cuddle with my cats and be grateful that I don't have to answer to anyone or give up my alone time. I hate to be so selfish and believe me, I do want a companion, but I'm probably better off just worrying about me and not having to meet someone else's expectations and demands. Right?
To all my readers (Mom and Emily), please spread the message of love and peace in your every day conduct. I will try and do the same.
