Vegas!

Wild times, my friends, wild times. Not really, but it felt good pretending I actually did something crazy. So, I had to be in San Francisco for some Identity Theft Training and decided to get there via Las Vegas. And, as usual, I got there when the rodeo was in town. Even though I'm now living in the South, it's very rare to see cowboy hats in Charlotte. I saw more in Los Angeles worn by the Mexican cowboys. And I've never been to Montana, or anywhere in the south where they dress like cowboys so it's always fun to see the men and women who come in for rodeo.

I usually stay at the Gold Coast Casino rather than paying crazy prices to stay on the strip. The roulette is affordable and now they have penny slot machines. (Boy I miss the coin slot machines, I hate these new age virtual things. I loved the sound of coins dropping into the tray.) And of course, the cowboys stay there.

Photos above are of some of the people visiting for rodeo. The guy standing by himself was pointed out to me as a rodeo celebrity by the three gentlemen standing in line for the dining room. We chatted and I found out that his name is Bob Griswold and he's a champion saddle bronc rider. Very nice guy.

I wish I had taken some photos of the gals in their cowgirl regalia, but sometimes it's not appropriate to approach people and besides, I was busy losing money at the penny slot machines.

The best thing about Vegas was that it got my entrepreneurial juices flowing. There's so much money in that city that I know I'm going to be going back to do business. Even if it's only Cats & Dogs of The Bellagio Hotel. I will be back!

While I was in San Francisco I managed to find one of my youngest readers, Kai, son of Twito and Jeremy. He decided to pass the time on BART by reading Cats & Dogs of Charlotte. He's about 4 months old. I'm now in San Francisco finishing up the training and I'll go back to Charlotte via Vegas again. I love hitting Vegas and getting that sudden surge of energy, no matter how late it is, and just wandering around all night and people watching. It's really a fun city if you don't lose too much money.

One last thing, I met an amazing woman here in San Fran. I showed her the Cats & Dogs of Charlotte magazine and she gave me a few fabulous ideas to maintain it and make some money from it. I was so inspired that I reserved the following domain names: CatsAndDogsofNorthAmerica, CatsAndDogsofTheHolyLand, CatsAndDogsofTheWorld and CatsAndDogsofCelebs. Keep posted for news as these websites become realities!

Tomorrow's a new day. Tomorrow will bring new adventures to share with you. Everyday is a blessing, everyday I will try to visualize peace, not only for myself but for everyone I love, and those living in turmoil.

I'm alive. I e-mailed you yesterday. Our router died, and Kelly and I are never here, so it took us more than three weeks to figure out why we couldn't get online. Phew! Thank goodness for the new router.

Artwork. I'll buy a cartridge and get it photo ready - unless we can send him a digital file?
